Industries for Digital Arts Booming in Vancouver
The stories keep coming. Studios keep expanding. Jobs are booming NOW in Animation, VFX, Video Games, Web, Tech, and Digital Media…all things we teach at VanArts.
Check out this recent article on CBC, which focuses on Animal Logic, the studio behind THE LEGO MOVIE and new release DC LEAGUE OF SUPER PETS. The studio has been established in Vancouver since 2015, but has recently been purchased by NetFlix and is expanding into a 110,000-square-foot facility to hire 300 new employees.
Many of our own graduates already work there — but they need more!

According to Animal Logic’s COO Sharon Taylor, “I think our job ads will always be up for every single role because there’s always a need and we always want to be building out those teams.”
On top of this, Electronic Arts, Framestore, Industrial Light & Magic, & Walt Disney Animation Studios are also expanding operations to meet overwhelming demand.
The industry will descend on Vancouver from August 8-11 for SIGGRAPH, the world’s largest computer graphics conference, including a job fair and recruiting opportunities. This is the 4th time the conference has been held in Vancouver due to the strength of our local industry and talent pool.
